November 2002
Begins Piano Lessons
(age: 3 years 11 months)
I begin playing piano under Pamela Lam,
a National Certified Teacher of Music.
June 2003
National Guild of Piano Teachers
age: 4 years 5 months
After seven months of study, I become a National Winner in the 2003 Auditions of
the National Guild of Piano Teachers.
March 2004
Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC)
I participate in the Classical Music Festival held by the MTAC, playing both piano
and cello. I received excellent comments from both judges, Dr Junko Garrett and
Dr Shun-Lin Chou, who is Piano Chair at Cal State University, Long Beach. I also
pass the Certificate of Merit piano and cello exams (a state-wide music exam) with
honor. I play a Mozart piano Sonata (something more advanced than the required
repertoire) for my piano exam and receive 'Excellent' 5+ on both exams. I also got
100% on one of my theory tests and 99% on the other. As a result I am invited to
play at the Annual MTAC State Convention in San Diego in June 2004.
November 2003
Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC)
age: 4 years 10 months
I perform at the Fall Workshop Recital for MTAC (Glendale branch) where I win
the grand prize in their "Practice for Fund" by practicing the most hours and
raising the most money.
May 2004

age: 5 years 2 months
I play for the Spring Festival held by MTAC (Glendale branch), an annual event in
which each studio can only be represented by a single student. I represent two
studios, cello and piano.
June 2004
National Piano Guild Audition
age: 5 years 4 months
intermediate to advanced pieces. I become a National Winner for the second

Suzuki Music Camp in Michigan
age: 5 years 5 months
It's costly, but I spent two weeks in Twin Lake, Michigan, for a Suzuki Music Camp
where I study and performed chamber music. It was a lot of fun!
October 2004
On the Stage of the Ambassador Auditorium
age: 5 years 9 months
On October 17, 2004, I made a sneak appearance on the stage of the legendary
Ambassador Auditorium before its official re-opening. I played Prelude from
Unaccompanied Cello Suite No.1 by J.S. Bach and Mozart C Major Piano Sonata,
K.545, receiving standing ovations from the congregation of Harvest Rock
Church, the new owners of this wonderful hall. They have invited me to play for
them again in their hall in the near future. I have also been invited to appear as
a guest artist with the Pasadena Young Musicians Orchestra.
July 2004
Southwestern Youth Music Festival
age: 5 years 5 months
I compete in this competition at Cal State University, LA, in which there are over
3000 competitors. I win first prize in one cello category and a second prize in
another open piano solo category.
July 2003
Begins Cello Lessons
age: 4 years 6 months
I begin Cello lessons with Jennifer Goss, a
lecturer in cello at the Colburn School of
Performing Arts in Los Angeles, a member of
the Pacific Symphony in Costa Mesa, CA, and
a graduate of the Vienna Academy of Music.
